WP1 – PREPARATION


Objective: Efficiently identify staff, enact the legal framework, and convene partners to finalise work plan details.

Key activities include:

  1. Set up governing structures, convene partners, establish communication mechanisms, finalise the work plan and formalise the consortium

WP2 – DEVELOPMENT


Objective: Development of the neurodegenerative disease study programme and continuous.
professional development training modules.

Key activities include:

  1. Conduct an analysis about the best ways to pedagogically implement the developed material
  2. Five developmental meetings will take place during the developmental phase. The purpose of these meetings is to develop the material and train the Sri Lankan staff.
  3. The consortium will develop a neurodegenerative disease study programme that will consist of eight to nine courses that will represent a total of 30 credits (1500 hours) per the SLQF system.
  4. From each of the developed courses, 1 to 2 continuous professional development training modules will be developed.
  5. Accreditation of the neurodegenerative disease study programme and enrolment of students at the four Sri Lankan universities.

Milestones & Indicators:

  1. Develop eight courses that will represent a total of 30 credits (1500 hours) in accordance with the Sri Lanka qualifications framework (SLQF) system.
  2. Accreditation as either postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma and Masters by coursework at the four universities.
  3. Eight to sixteen continuous professional development training modules will also be generated.
  4. Twenty to forty Sri Lankan staff members will be trained in the developed courses. This will take place during the developmental phase. Majority of the development and training will take place during the five scheduled meetings that last for a week.
  5. Deliver continuous professional development training modules to a minimum of 1000 health care students and health care professionals.

WP3 – QUALITY PLAN


Objective: To monitor and evaluate the development of the courses

Key activities include:

  1. A pre-evaluation at the start of the project will be conducted by using methodology “Group concept mapping” will be used to assess the staff’s perceptions about the outcomes of the development of the study programme
  2. Focus groups with students to elicit their views on the developed neurodegenerative disease study programme
  3. Internal evaluation – The overall guiding framework to monitor the project will be based upon a Utilisation-Focused evaluation approach.
  4. External evaluation of the developed course curriculum and materials
  5. Quality evaluation of the continuous professional development training modules

Milestones & Indicators:

  1. Group concept mapping report

WP4 – DISSEMINATION AND EXPLOITATION


Objective: The outcome is to further increase the real sustainability of the proposed activities and

outputs after the project lifetime and generate awareness of neurodegenerative diseases.

Key activities include:

  1. University level: Each Sri Lankan partner will promote active recruitment for potential students for the programme.
  2. Continuous professional development training modules: Each Sri Lankan partner has already liaised with teaching hospitals in the region.
  3. Patient involvement: The Sri Lankan partners in each region will liaise patient representative organisations and/or family members. of a patient with a neurodegenerative disease to facilitate a better understanding.
  4. National dissemination: The Sri Lankan partners will disseminate the outputs of the project on a national level via a website, national conferences and other relevant events.
  5. International dissemination: The European partners will disseminate the project via their extensive network.
  6. Dissemination conference: Towards the end of the project lifetime, a 2-days final conference will be organised in Sri Lanka with various stakeholders invited: students, young scientists, healthcare providers, policymakers and enterprises.

Milestones & Indicators:

A report on the following indicators 

  • Number of people that have enrolled in the study programme
  • The number of people participated in the continuous professional development training modules.
  • Pre and Post-test that measure the learning impacts statistically in the continuous professional
  • development training modules.
  • Number of people or organisations that have been made aware of the impact of neurodegenerative diseases
  • Number of people reached through dissemination
  • Number of dissemination activities
  • Number of participants in the dissemination conference

WP5 – MANAGEMENT


Objective: The focus upon running the project such as, but not limited to; from planning, coordination, reporting, financial work and management, dissemination, communication with partners, updating project documentation and plans.

Key activities include:

  1. Appoint Management Board (MB) that will consist of the Project Coordinator, Project Managers from each partner and Financial Manager from HKR.
  2. The management board will have six physical meetings during the duration of the project.
  3. Monitoring and Reporting: Technical and financial reporting will be coordinated and consolidated.

Milestones & Indicators:

  1. Appointing the Management board 
  2. The monitoring and reporting will be incorporated with the ongoing internal quality evaluation reports. Semi-annual reports until the completion of the project will be provided.
