Painting Workshop for People with Dementia at the Dialogues in Neurodegenerative Disorders Conference, Ljubljana, Slovenia

We were thrilled to host a heartwarming and inspiring painting workshop for people with dementia, run by Home of the Enderly Fužine, Ljubljana at the Dialogues in Neurodegenerative Disorders conference. This special event, part of the nEUROcare project, showcased our commitment to advancing care and support for individuals with neurodegenerative disorders.

The workshop provided a unique opportunity for participants to engage in creative expression within a supportive and inclusive environment. Attendees explored various painting techniques and mediums, resulting in an array of vibrant and meaningful artworks. The joy and enthusiasm displayed by the participants were truly inspiring, highlighting the therapeutic power of artistic activities.

One of the most touching aspects of the workshop was witnessing the connections formed between participants, caregivers, and facilitators. The shared experience of creating art fostered a sense of community and belonging, which is especially vital for individuals living with neurodegenerative disorders. It was a testament to the importance of person-centred care approaches that prioritize mental and emotional well-being alongside physical health.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Home of the Elderly Fužine, Ljubljana for their expertise and dedication in leading this remarkable workshop. Their compassionate guidance helped make the event a memorable and impactful experience for everyone involved. Additionally, we thank all the participants for their enthusiasm and willingness to explore new forms of expression.

This workshop exemplifies the mission of the nEUROcare project: to enhance the quality of life for individuals with neurodegenerative disorders through innovative and compassionate care practices.
