The General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU). recently celebrated the opening of its new Erasmus+ Projects Office, a significant milestone in its efforts to strengthen international collaborations. The center, directed by Dr. Prasanna Herath, the nEUROcare project manager at KDU, is set to serve as a crucial hub for fostering partnerships with the European Union and other international academic institutions.

This initiative, which was built upon the foundations laid by the nEUROcare project, marks a strategic step forward in enhancing KDU’s global reach. The nEUROcare project is the first Erasmus initiative at KDU. Dr. Prasanna Herath, has utilized his experience from this project to propose the establishment of an Erasmus project office. In response to his request, the Vice-Chancellor has approved the opening of this office.

The Erasmus+ Centre will provide a bridge for KDU to engage in a wide range of academic and research collaborations, facilitating student and staff exchanges, joint research projects, and capacity-building programs. By aligning with the objectives of the Erasmus+ program, the center aims to elevate the university’s academic profile on the international stage, ultimately benefiting both its students and faculty.
