nEUROcare Project Field Monitoring Visit by Ms. Elissabetta Necco from the European Union
Ms. Elisabetta Necco from the European Union visited University of Ruhuna as a part of her field monitoring visit for the nEUROcare project. This visit was a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between European and Sri Lankan institutions aimed at enhancing capacity building and neurocare education in Sri Lanka.
She visited Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna on 1st July 2024 and the field monitoring activities conducted on the 3rd of July 2024 at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Ruhuna. During this visit, Ms. Necco engaged with key stakeholders, including team members from four partner universities in Sri Lanka, the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, as well as nurses and graduates who had actively participated in the nEUROcare workshops, conference and several other education/training activities.
The discussions during the visit centered on the progress of the nEUROcare project, highlighting the achievements made so far. Ms. Necco also addressed the practical difficulties encountered by the project teams, providing valuable insights into strategies for overcoming barriers. This collaborative effort highlights the commitment of both the European Union and Sri Lankan partners to advancing healthcare education and improving neurocare outcomes in the country.
The visit not only reinforced the importance of international collaboration but also provided an opportunity to align the project’s objectives with on-ground realities, ensuring that the nEUROcare project continues to make a meaningful impact in Sri Lanka.
