Delivery of Continuous Professional Development Sessions – nEUROcare project – Galle, Sri Lanka
Delivery of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) session under the nEUROcare project was held on 09th of November 2023 at University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. This was held in parallel to the International Ruhuna University Faculty of Allied Health Sciences Research Symposium 2023 (iRuFARS 2023) together with the pre-congress workshop the same conference. This event was organized jointly by the nEUROcare project team of University of Ruhuna and iRuFARS 2023. Approximately 300 healthcare professionals and healthcare students took part in the session.
The delegates of nEUROcare team delivered the CPD lessons to healthcare professionals in Sri Lanka under following themes in relation to the patients with neurodegenerative disorders.
Apart from these CPD lessons, Prof. Steve Smith, nEUROcare delegate from Triskelion, Norway, delivered a lecture in the pre-congress workshop on “Risk assessment for Older Adults”.
The level of knowledge on above themes were evaluated in two time lines before delivery of CPD lessons and after delivery (pre-and post-surveys). According to the pre- and post-survey results participants have been able to enhance their level of knowledge on above themes significantly after the delivery of lessons (Table).
