Prof Damayanthi Dassanayake was invited as a Guest and the keynote speaker for the International Nurses’ Day 2024 celebrations organised by Sirimavo Bandaranaike Specialised Children’s Hospital, Teaching Hospital Peradeniya, Teaching Hospital Kurunegala, Teaching Hospital Gampola and Teaching Hospital Rathnapura. She shared information about two ERASMUS + capacity building projects funded by the European Union, namely: nEUROcare and CAPAGE. The discussions mainly focused on one of the strategic actions declared by the Charter for Change of International Council of Nurses: investing in high-quality, accredited nursing education programmes. The wide audience participated in the events including members of Healthcare team especially administrators of respective hospitals as well as delegates from the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka.
