The fourth workshop of nEUROcare project was held at the Grand Kandyan Hotel on 13th and 14th of February 2023. In parallel to this workshop, the workshop on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) was held at the Centre for Research in Oral Cancer of the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya on the 15th of February at 8.30 AM to 1.30 PM. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) offers a psychological model well suited to the needs of patients with a disfiguring condition.  Nearly 30 nurses and physiotherapists who work in government hospitals in Kandy participated in the workshop. This was jointly organized by nEUROcare project, University of Peradeniya and Kandy Society of Medicine (KSM).

The resource persons of the workshop were Prof. Martin Persson and Ms. Emma Edberg Matei from Faculty of Health Sciences, Kristianstad University, Sweden. Professor, MD Lamawansa, the Vice-Chancellor of University of Peradeniya, Deans of the Faculty of Dental Sciences and Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, , Dr Kanchana Edirisinghe President of Kandy Society of Medicine (KSM) and Dr Chaturanga Keppetiyagama, the Secretary of KSM,and Head, Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences participated the event as guests. Dr Damayanthi Dassanayake, the project manager coordinated the workshop.
